It isn’t all that easy to tell you all about the effects of Ayahuasca for this simple reason: nobody has the same experience. Every Ayahuasca ceremony is different, and what your body goes through can be different every single time. As you undergo more ceremonies, you’ll have a better idea of all the different sorts of experiences and sensations you may feel as a result of this medicine. You may even experience the amazing insight and healing that Ayahuasca offers on your first ceremony.
There’s one Ayahuasca effect that is certain: the plants offer what you need – not necessarily what you want. To reap the fullest effects of this medicine, you must embrace the journey.
Whatever experience you go through, you have to remember that an Ayahuasca ceremony isn’t a fast way to healing or a fun way to take a drug trip. On the contrary, it is a journey where all have the ability to completely turn their lives around and heal from their past trauma.
When we say that Ayahuasca offers what you need, we aren’t joking. Whatever healing process you undergo is what your body, mind, and soul needs. Sometimes you may find that you need a purge. Sometimes, you need an enlightening experience. And sometimes, all you feel is peace.
It’s always a better idea to go into an Ayahuasca ceremony without any expectations, but rather with the intention of becoming your better self and trusting the process.
Ayahuasca experiences range from elaborate mind-altering visions to profound voyages of healing. You could end up gaining insight and astonishing things that are often only experienced by those who have been practicing for a long period of time. It’s an amazing experience granted to us to gain awareness and enlightenment.
Though Ayahuasca is centered on healing, there is no guarantee that the healing process will be pretty. Ayahuasca is first and foremost a teacher, and you will learn things about yourself that you never saw before. The mistakes you have made in the past and the trauma that you have undergone will be revealed to you, and you will begin the process of healing.
Besides spiritual and emotional healing, you may also experience physical healing. As the medicine runs through your body, your energy flows. It may be in the form of pain or nausea, but it may even be pleasure and comfort. Even when you don’t distinctly feel anything at all, it is moving throughout your body and working its magic.
There may be times that you feel little to no effects after taking Ayahuasca. If 90 minutes or more have passed without effect, go ahead and request additional medicine at the facilitator’s discretion. There will be a greater range of effects over time as well as methods of healing that you have never experienced before. During every ceremony, you will develop the insight and control to request for specific information and healing guidance that will help you throughout your transformation.
During the Ayahuasca process, you may experience physical purging, whether through vomiting, diarrhea, sweating. Don’t let this deter you – it is simply a way to cleanse your physical body and prepare you for the journey that is to come. Remember – your healing is not only spiritual, but also emotional, mental, and physical.
Here are some of the things that you may experience as you go through your Ayahuasca experience:
– Emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical detoxification
– Working through your past traumas to heal
– Gaining insight to your current being
– Letting go of any inhibitors
– Restoring from anxiety, depression, and other mental conditions
– Connecting on the spiritual plane
– Appreciating your place in this world
– Gaining inspiration
Please note that before you choose to take the Ayahuasca journey, you have to ensure that your body and mind is ready. People who suffer from some medical or psychological conditions may not be a good fit for Ayahuasca and similar plant medicine.
