JAN 25 – FEB 01, 2025
8-Day Qhapaq Ñan: Soaring the Rainbow Serpent
Qhapaq Ñan: The Inca Trail
A one-of-a-kind immersive experience to open the portals of ancient knowledge in the sacred sanctuaries of the ancestors, guided by Grandfather San Pedro. Align your energy with a millennia-old ancestral path that mirrors a stellar route, where each temple reflects an important star in our cosmos, offering deeply profound spiritual gifts.
The Prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor
The ancient prophecy of the eagle and the condor says that our times are times of integration, times when the barriers that separate us dissolve to unite us. The prophecy says that the traditions of North and South, the ancient traditions, and those of today join forces to rise in mighty flight.
Heyoka Journeys: Answering the Call
Heyoka Journeys is an answer to that call; to follow in the footsteps of the original people and make their predictions come true. It is the invitation to walk through sacred places; lagoons and mountains to open ourselves to the wonder of life and Mother Earth. It is to travel to our roots to revive the ancient indigenous practices of the Americas, from North to South.
An Invitation for Seekers of Integration
Heyoka journeys summon seekers committed to their growth to deepen in the art of uniting worlds: the ancestral and the contemporary world, guiding us towards integration. The use of the Andean medicine of San Pedro, the prayer with the sacred pipe of the Northern tradition, the use of the Coca leaf, the traditional Andean offering of the South, and pilgrimage are an integral part of the experience and vision. So are other ancestral practices such as bathing rituals of purification and empowerment in sacred bodies of water: sacred portals to the divine.
In Honor of the Ancestors
In honor of our ancestors who left their legacy for our benefit, in honor of the prophecy of the flight of the eagle and the condor, we invite connection-seeking hearts to join us in this journey to the root to receive the transmission of the ancient knowledge and secrets of this Indigenous America and to marvel at the altars of this sacred earth.
The Mythical Prophecy and the Great Transition
In the oral transmission of all the peoples and ancestral traditions of the world, there is talk of a mythical prophecy, which tells that the time of the Great Transition has arrived, symbolized by the meeting of the flight of the condor and the eagle, called in the Andean world the Pachacutik era, in which the human being returns to the great awakening of consciousness in times of profound confusion and picks up the threads of the great fabric of memory that are the legacy that our grandfathers and grandmothers left in good custody to be revealed in the future. times of need they knew were to come.
The Children of the Sun: Guardians of the Sacred Knowledge
Thus, the solar tradition of the so-called “Children of the Sun” chose guardians of this sacred knowledge to go into the highest of the Andean mountains and protect their practices, rituals, and understandings there for several hundred years without being distorted by the imposition of the Catholic religion of the Spanish conquerors. These guardians of the Children of the Sun are known as the Q’ero nation.
Approximately 60 years ago they began to come down from their home in the mountains and share their knowledge and ritual practices from the understanding that the time has come for human beings to turn their gaze and efforts to reconnect with the primordial forces that make life possible for us and the need to reintegrate into the harmonious flow of nature from which modern life is deeply uprooted.
Pachamama: The Great Nurturing Mother
Pachamama is a high living consciousness conceived as the Great Nurturing Mother, her body encompasses the entire planet and her backbone is the Andes Mountains. It is here where various centers of powerful energy come together and are concentrated, identified by our grandfathers and grandmothers as Sacred Sanctuaries where they erected their Temples to honor and connect with the particular energies that manifest in each energy channel. It is a very broad and deep knowledge, since by analogy our own bodies replicate this cosmic design and by connecting and activating these energy centers we are aligning ourselves with our own transcendental cosmic nature.
Route: Inca Trail - Chinchaysuyo Region
– Ingapirca Inca Sanctuary
– Cañari Sanctuary of Paredones
– Culebrillas Lagoon
– Osogoche Lagoon
Ingapirca is the most important ceremonial center in Ecuador. It served as an astronomical observatory and a temple dedicated to the Sun and Moon, with both Cañari and Inca origins. It evokes transcendence, symbolizing the human search for a connection with the mysteries of the earth and the sky.
For centuries, the native peoples of the Americas have revered the sanctuary of the Earth, offering their prayers at places of pure energy—lakes, mountains, and sacred sites.
These locations open the possibility for our personal development. Here, we encounter the center of an initiation into the mysteries of the spirit. We will unlock the invisible doors of Mother Earth to meet the celestial forces. The lagoons, reflecting the sky, serve as mirrors for this sacred encounter.
We will follow the Inca path, journeying from Ingapirca to Paredones, the Culebrillas Lagoon, Achupallas, and Osogoche. Welcome to this sacred journey.
Santiago Ayala (Quito)
Guardian & Co Founder of Casa del Sol
Santiago carries the blessings of his tribal chiefs, family and many indigenous elders. He is a Sun dancer, carrier of the sacred Chanupa (sacred pipe), and holds space for Vision Quests. He is walking heir of the Altar of the Half Moon, along with the heritage of the Inkapaqo bridge of the lagoon and has over 30 years of experience working as a traditional healer.
Santiago devoted his life to the shamanic path at age 26 after overcoming a serious illness. He is the guardian of one of the last San Pedro and Willka trees forests in southern Ecuador, preparing it in the traditional way to be used for healing purposes.
In the prophecy of the southern condor and the northern eagle, I invite the hearts of those seeking connection with the altars of the earth to receive the transmission of ancient knowledge and secrets of this indigenous America.
